MISSIONARIES GROUP INTERNATIONAL

WORKING WITH BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCHES TO GROW BY FACING FACTS CONCERNING THE CHURCH
"HELPING CHURCHES TO GROW" TARGET 20/50 MISSION TEAM.

We believe that we can offer some of these churches what they need in order to grow. The approach to growth is called Helping churches to grow and at its heart there are three important aspects.

1) Change. Working with the congregation to introduce positive change  where needed is the first stage towards growth. Introducing change is  difficult but also essential if Christ is to be represented in a relevant way  for today’s people. By its very nature, the Gospel message is not subject  to change but methods used to present it are, together with the way in  which we conduct our worship and services. They have been subject to  change since Pentecost.

2) Missions. Once the interested church has decided to accept the challenge of the project they are offered a three month programme. This begins with the planning of its first mission. There are three missions in the programme and each programmes last for three weeks.
a) Mission 1. Takes from door-to-door visitation programme in know ing the religious background of the people by asking question. The aim is to discover who the people are in the neighbourhood and how the church can help the community. This informations will be analysed and used as the basis for further outreach programmes.
b) Mission 2. Our aims will be to encourage people to ‘step inside the church’. Ideas suitable for the church’s location are arrange so that people can come and see what the church have for them, looks like and meet people who attend. This encourage people to feel less apprehensive as and when they are invited to attend a service or meeting. Outreach continues throughout this mission with leaflets and tracts being used to invite people to the weeks events. Mission is specifically evangelistic and aims to build on contracts that have been made through the previous missions and the outreach. This is the time for harvesting and establishing new growth within the church.

3) People. Alongside the encouragement offered to the church involved in the project, there is a strong desire on our part to help Christians to grow in their faith. During the time the church is linked to the project, we will aim to help individual members and the new converts of the congregation to grow. This will be done in full partnership with the leadership of the church.

However, there is another group of people whom we plan to encourage and support and they are the members of the target 20/50 mission team. Each mission will need a team of between 4 and 6 people made up of Christians who are eager willing to give a week of their time in order to help the church grow. Additionally, further commitment in terms of preparation for each mission is essential. In return, not only will each volunteer help reach others for Christ, but he or she will have faith stretched, prayers answered and make lasting friendship along the way.
